Gloo Nova in BR

Exciting battles on a brand-new, Gloo-covered map

“Mr. Waggor's Gloo experiment explosion has resulted in the entire Factory being covered in Gloo. Even the arsenals and airdrops have been affected! But there's good news – Mr. Waggor has developed four unique Gloo Gadgets that can be equipped on Gloo Walls as a result of his research. Unlock and choose your favorite gadget, then join the match to help Mr. Waggor clean up the Gloo and take down your enemies!”

  • Gloo Gadgets: During the event, players can select one of four Gloo Wall gadgets to use in-match. Each gadget offers a unique effect on the Gloo Wall during gameplay.

    • Scanner Gadget: Unlocked through the event. When equipped, the Gloo Wall deployed during matches can scan for enemies within 35m for 6s. It also marks enemies within 10m for 2s. Cooldown: 25s.
    • Defender Gadget: Unlocked through the event. When equipped, the player's Gloo Wall gains an additional 250 durability. • Gloo Arsenals and Gloo Airdrops
    • During the event, all arsenals will be covered with Gloo. Arsenal keys are no longer needed; players can break the Gloo covering the arsenal door to open the arsenal and loot.

Characters

New Character

Lila

Gloo Artist

“Since she was little, Lila loved exploring the city's hidden corners. Her curiosity turned her into a devoted street art enthusiast, and Gloo became her source of creativity. When she first met Mr. Waggor, who was passionate about and talented at utilizing the gel-like substance just like her, they immediately clicked and began experimenting with Gloo together. When it comes to battles, Lila can use rifles to slow down enemies or vehicles with her Gloo technology and gain extra Gloo Walls when knocking down enemies to keep fighting!”

Gloo Strike:

When hitting enemies or vehicles with rifles, reduces the enemies' movement speed by 10% or the vehicles' acceleration by 50% for 3s. If the enemy is knocked down while decelerated, freezes them for up to 3s, obtains 1 extra Gloo Wall, and enters a 10s skill cooldown.

Character Rework

Andrew “the Fierce”

Prioritize the tactics of collaboration

“Andrew ‘the Fierce’ was designed to encourage players to team up for tactical advantages. However, the current mechanism makes one-on-one battles tempting for players due to the high damage reduction provided. To facilitate team collaboration, we are restricting this effect to within a 15m range.”

Wolf Pack:

Awakening: Armor damage reduction boosted by 4%. Additional 1% damage reduction from every teammate within 15m.

*We have also updated the corresponding skill description, offering a clearer explanation for the mechanism. One more teammate nearby means extra 1% for damage reduction -- it is as simple as that!

Maximum-HP-Related Adjustments

There are many skills and items in the game that provide better protection and endurance for players in combat. For instance, armor provides damage reduction, and Xayne offers extra HP. While different combos give players a chance to develop unique battle styles, they also create some issues, making it hard to predict enemies’ HP and getting players to wonder if they are having connection issues or damage bugs, which negatively affects their overall gaming experience. In the previous patch, we introduced damage indicators for shield damage to help you better gauge enemies’ HP and the overall situation. This time, we are restricting the max. HP for further improvements.

Check the optimizations based on the max. HP limit below:

Xayne

Booyah the Xtreme way!

“We are replacing the extra HP provided by Xayne’s skill into temporary Shield Points and enhancing her ability for knockdown streaks. The new Xayne awaits your exploration!”

Xtreme Encounter:

Enters the Xtreme state and instantly obtains 60 temporary Shield Points for 12s, during which each knockdown of an enemy restores the temporary Shield Points gained through this skill back to 60 and resets the state duration. Once the state ends, the Shield Points earned from this process will be removed. Cooldown: 75s.

Luqueta

Shield Points instead of HP boost

“In this new patch, the additional HP once provided by Luqueta’s skill has been changed to Shield Points.”

Hat Trick:

Every elimination increases max. Shield Points permanently by 25. Max. boost: 50. Clears the effects once the player is eliminated or the round is reset.

Shield-Points-Related Adjustments

  • Vest HP Booster → Shield Booster: 30 HP → 30 Shield Points
  • Vest Enlarger: 30 HP → 30 Shield Points
  • Shield Points recovery speed: 10 Shield Points/s → 5 Shield Points/s
    • Applies to Antonio, Luqueta, Shield Booster, Vest Enlarger

Character Balance Adjustments

K

The King of EP

“In BR mode, steady recovery of players’ attributes can make the team feel safe. K is your go-to in this case, boosting EP recovery per second and extending the EP conversion range to 15 meters for allies—on par with the support abilities of J.Biebs and Olivia!

Master of All:

Max. EP increases by 50. Jiu-jitsu Mode: Allies within 6m  → 15m get 600% increase in EP conversion rate. Psychology Mode: Recover 3 EP every 2s  → 1s, up to 250 EP. Mode switch Cooldown: 6s.

Orion

More agile as a hunter

“Previously, we added the restriction to Orion’s movement speed, making him more of a defensive character. However, the 20% speed reduction has made it too easy for enemies to escape his grasp in close quarters. This time, we are easing up on that reduction rate to give Orion a better shot at chasing down foes and becoming a game changer on the field.”

Crimson Crush:

Replaces EP with 300 Crimson Energy. Consumes 200 Crimson Energy to activate its protection, during which you cannot take damage or attack enemies and will absorb 10 HP (ignoring enemy Shield Points) from foes within 5m. Lasts for 3s, during which your movement speed will decrease by 20%  → 10%. Cooldown: 3s.

Maro

Sharp eyes on the prey!

“Maro has always been a top choice when paired with sniper rifles, but he might be less popular when it comes to skill combinations in players’ presets. In this patch, we are boosting Maro’s damage to marked enemies and encouraging players to try him out with other marking skills.”

Falcon Fervor:

Damage increases with distance, up to 25%. Damage to marked enemies increases by 3.5%  → 5%.

D-bee

Shoot-and-run!

“D-bee's agility gives him an edge when moving and firing at the same time, but his current speed doesn't help him survive well on the battlefield. This is about to change now. With increased movement speed, D-bee will be able to dodge enemy bullets more effectively.”

Bullet Beats:

When firing while moving, movement speed increases by 30%  → 50%, accuracy increases by 60%.

Map

Gloo Factory

Let’s blow up some Gloo in the Factory!

“The Factory is now engulfed by Gloo substances! The view-blocking covers, extensive staircases, and multi-level platforms have all been transformed into destructible Gloo materials. It is time to fire up and wreak a little havoc in the Gloo Factory!”

  1. Factory is now closed up with Gloo substances, with most of the covers, platforms, and passways inside replaced by destructible Gloos, offering a brand-new battle environment for players.
  2. While some Gloo substances can be destructed by bullets, throwables, and characters’ skills, there are also indestructible ones. Make sure to spot the difference!

Bermuda Minimap Rework

Crystal-clear information display

“The Bermuda minimap has received an ultimate visual makeover based on its original colors, making it easy to read at a glance. This will help you make decisions in battles more quickly and accurately.”

  • Adjusted the terrain and colors of buildings and downplayed trivial information such as trees to streamline minimap visuals.
  • Optimized the display effects for areas such as the High Tier Loot (Blue) Zone and UAV-Lite range.
  • Standardized the icons and visual hierarchy for interactive objects, including arsenals and airdrops.

Window Jump Optimizations (Except Kalahari)

No more getting stuck while jumping through windows!

“We have all been there – trying to jump through a window only to get stuck on the sill. Starting from this patch, not anymore!”

  • Adjusted the size of windows for some of the buildings in Bermuda.
  • Optimized the mechanism for window jumps in all the maps except Kalahari, allowing players to directly vault in most cases. Only on a very few occasions (extremely unusual angles) will your characters automatically crouch on the sill during a jump.

Other Map Adjustments

  • To ensure a balanced and enjoyable CS experience, we have further adjusted the high grounds in the Bermuda area:
  1. Further adjusted the structures of rooftops in Nurek Dam and Observatory for CS mode.
  2. Modified the structure of the two-story building in Sentosa for CS mode, replaced the trash can near the cars, and removed the containers near the fences in the middle.

Weapon and Balance

New Melee Attack: Charged Dash

Dash and slash!

“Initiate attack with the new charged Scythe attack!”

  • Only available while holding a Scythe.
  • Hold the Charge button to dash forward. Max dash distance capped at 6m.
  • Perform a slash at the end of the dash and deal extra damage to Gloo Walls.

Weapon Adjustments

AC80

“AC80 rewards high damage when hitting enemies with two consecutive shots. However, the low damage of the first shot often puts AC80 at a disadvantage. Hence we rebalanced the damage of the first and second shot to improve AC80’s stability.”

  • AC80: Damage +10%, Consecutive shots damage bonus -20%, Extra damage to shield +20%

Woodpecker

“Compared to SKS and AC80, Woodpecker has a decent rate of fire, armor penetration, and headshot damage. Hence we reduced Woodpecker’s damage while retaining its strengths in firing rate and armor penetration.”

  • Woodpecker: Damage -5%

AK47

“High damage and large spread have been AK47’s signatures. However, its overly large spread has also discouraged many players. We improved AK47’s precision and armor penetration to boost its late-game performance.”

  • AK47: Accuracy +5%, Armor Penetration +10%, Headshot Damage +10%

XM8

“XM8 stands out among its rifle peers because of its high precision, damage and rate of fire. In this update, we reduced XM8’s damage while maintaining its stable performance in battles.”

  • XM8: Damage -5%

AUG

“Since AUG joined the upgradable gun class, AUG-III has been the best rifle all around. To leave room for other rifles, we reduced its armor penetration while increasing the damage to improve AUG’s early performance.”

  • AUG: Damage +3%,  Armor Penetration -5%
  • AUG-I: Damage +3%,  Armor Penetration -5%
  • AUG-II: Damage +3%,  Armor Penetration -5%
  • AUG-III: Armor Penetration -5%

M4A1

“M4A1’s performance in-match has been lackluster. Hence we increased its damage to make it a popular pick in the late game.”

  • M4A1: Damage +6%, Consecutive shots damage bonus -8%

M60

“High crouch precision and the damage bonus for consecutive shots contribute to M60’s dominating performance at the expense of weapon balance between rifles. To tackle this issue, we re-adjusted M60’s upgrades. Now each upgrade increases M60’s damage instead of consecutive shots damage bonus. Extra damage to Gloo Walls is also reduced.”

  • M60: Each upgrade now increases damage instead of consecutive shots damage bonus
    • New upgrade details:
      • M60-I: Damage +5%
      • M60-II: Damage +10%
      • M60-III: Damage +15%
  • Extra Damage to Gloo Wall -20%

M249/M249-X

“Compared to M60, M249 is known for its high damage. In this patch, M249 will further receive a boost on damage dealt to Gloo Walls.”

  • M249: Extra damage to Gloo Walls +10%

Charge Buster

“As a unique airdrop shotgun, Charge Buster’s recent performance is lacking. Therefore, we tuned up its damage and charge speed to increase the overall damage output.”

  • Charge Buster: Charge Speed +12%, Damage +5%

Trogon

“The area blast of the grenade mode gives Trogon a massive edge in chaotic battles. To keep Trogon in line with other shotguns, we reduced its magazine size for grenades.”

  • Trogon: Grenade Launcher Mode Magazine (4 → 2)

Double Vector/Vector

“Double Vector’s slow reload speed and double equip slots make it an unpopular pick among the players. We increased its reload speed to improve Double Vector’s up-time during battle.”

  • Double Vector/Vector: Reload Speed +15%

Special Adjustments:

“M24 and SVD-Y both have the ability to penetrate Gloo Walls. However, this ability is limited by their low penetration damage. We plan to enhance M24 and SVD-Y’s Gloo Wall penetration while reducing the extra damage as a tradeoff.”

  • SVD-Y: Extra damage to Gloo Walls removed, Gloo Wall penetration damage +5%
  • M24: Extra damage to Gloo Walls removed, Gloo Wall penetration damage +20%

Gameplay

  • Players can choose to disable this feature in settings.
