Q1: How do we define Cheating?

Using any unauthorized third party programs which are not released by Garena, Modifying of game client and/or playing in a modified game client in order to use functions which are not existent on the official game.

Q2: I have spotted cheaters/ new scripts in a game. How do I report?

Please use the in-game Report function. This is the official channel, and all reports will be reviewed.

Q3: Is Free Fire able to detect cheaters?

Yes, we are able to. We are detecting and banning cheaters everyday. We are also constantly upgrading our anti-hack capabilities to detect the latest hacks.

Q4: How does Free Fire punish cheaters?

Free Fire has a zero tolerance policy against cheating. we will permanently ban their accounts used for cheating. Devices used for cheating will also be banned from playing Free Fire again using any other accounts.

Q5: Free Fire bans accounts of cheaters. Why not also ban the IP? How will FF handle the cheaters who use guest accounts?

IP ban is not an effective measure because cheaters may use public WiFi and in such cases, banning IP will affect other innocent players.
We are aware of the Guest account exploit, and are working continuously to counter this loophole. Currently, we are banning accounts immediately after misconduct. This makes cheating using Guest accounts relatively meaningless.

Q6: Apart from banning cheating accounts, does Free Fire have prevention measures against hacks?

Banning isn"t all we do, we have a dedicated technical anti-hack team focusing on preventing hacks.

Q7: I never use hacks or scripts. Why did my account get banned?

All banned accounts have shown firm evidence of cheating. Please check if you have given access of your account to someone else to play with.
Please ensure that you only play on Free Fire client downloaded from authorized app stores (refer to Q20). Using Apks from unauthorized sources may result in account banning. Refer to Q18 to check if your third-party software is breaking the rules.

Q8: My account is banned for cheating, can I ask for a refund of the diamonds I spent?

No.

Q9: I lent my account to a friend. He cheated and got it banned. Can my account be unbanned?

No. Please do not share your account information with anyone.

Q10: Is it true that accounts with top-ups will not be banned?

No. We treat all accounts fairly. All accounts found to be cheating will be banned.

Q11: Why are accounts of influencers and streamers unbanned, but not mine?

We treat all accounts fairly, with no special treatment for influencers/ streamers. All accounts found with evidence of cheating will be permanently banned.

Q12: I bought this account from someone without knowing it was used for cheating before. Now the account has been banned, can it be unbanned?

No. Please do not engage in account trading.

Q13: I follow rules but my account was being falsely and maliciously reported. Will I be banned?

All reports will be carefully investigated. We only ban accounts when we have evidence of cheating.

Q14: What happens if a teammate (randomly matchmaking) on my side cheats?

Our system can differentiate between intentionally v.s. unintentionally matchmaking with a cheating teammate. We only ban accounts with evidence of intentionally cheating.

Q15: Why Free Fire doesn´t take legal actions against sellers, streamers and promoters of hacking?

We have a procedure of removing hack promoting materials from Youtube and Facebook. This will be continuously enhanced. We are also looking at tackling malicious activities on other mediums. 

Q16: Someone stole my Facebook account, and when I got my account back, my FF account was banned. Can you unban the account?

No, we cannot be certain if the cheating was a result of account being stolen or intentionally conducted by player. Please keep your account login information secured. To ensure fairness to all players, we will not unban accounts which were found with evidence of cheating.

Q17: Can I be fined with an amount of diamonds to unban my account?

No. An account banned for cheating will not be unbanned under any circumstances.

Q18: Garena says third party softwares/apks aren’t allowed. What is the definition of third party softwares/apks/etc for Garena Free Fire?

Softwares attempt to decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble or hack the Services (or any portion thereof), or to defeat or overcome any encryption technology or security measures implemented by Garena with respect to the Services and/or data transmitted, processed or stored by Garena.

Q19: Can I exploit a bug that already exists in-game?

Running into a bug that works to your benefit is not cheating. However, we will ban accounts that maliciously and repeatedly exploit a bug.

Q20: Can I download Free Fire from unofficial sources?

Please download Free Fire from authorized app stores (iOS App Store, Google Play Store, Huawei AppGallery, Xiaomi App Store and OPPO App Market -- vary by region). Do not download Apks from unauthorized sources.

Q21: Why are there still hacking and cheating after the big update?

Hack programs and scripts are also constantly being updated to get around our defence. This is an ongoing battle, and we will continue to enhance the speed and breadth of our anti-hack system.
